Welcome to Outside’s new activity feed! We are dedicated to maintaining a constructive, respectful, and inclusive environment. It’s important for us to establish guidelines that promote a safe and positive experience for all our members. This policy applies to all Outside properties, including Gaia GPS, Trailforks, Pinkbike, and athleteReg. Your contribution to the feed is also at all times subject to the Outside Terms of Use, which this policy is meant to supplement.
Our Standards:
Respectful Communication: We expect all interactions on our platform to be conducted with respect. Any form of harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, or abuse is not tolerated. The content that you contribute to the feed should add to it in a constructive manner. Without limiting the generality of this standard, we do not allow the following behavior:
Respect User Privacy: Do not reveal others’ personal or private information (e.g. doxing) or encourage others to do the same.
Relevance: Keep your comments and posts relevant to the topic at hand. The focus of the feed is to create an inclusive, welcoming, and useful place where our users can discuss, share, and connect on all things related to the outdoors and their active lifestyles. Off-topic discussions can detract from the purpose of the feed and may be removed.
Intellectual Property: Respect copyright and the ownership rights of others. Ensure that any content you share or post does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties.
Compliance with Laws: You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing online conduct and acceptable content.
Content Moderation:
In addition to moderation by team members of Outside, we use automated systems to identify content that violates these guidelines.
We reserve the right to remove or alter any content and take action against any account found in violation of these policies, including warnings, content removal, or banning of users, at our discretion.
If you believe action taken on your content or account was in error, you can submit an appeal to community-moderation@outsideinc.com. Please note that we cannot guarantee a response or action based on any email received regarding appeals.
Reporting Issues:
If you encounter content that violates our guidelines, please use the reporting tools provided to alert our moderation team.
We encourage open communication and will review all reports, but we ask users to utilize the reporting feature responsibly.
Changes to Guidelines:
We may update these guidelines from time to time to reflect the evolving needs of our feed. Any changes will be communicated clearly and go into effect immediately upon posting.
We appreciate your cooperation in making Outside a great place for everyone. Thank you for being an integral part of our community!
